Secession threatened to permanently divide the nation in 1861. During the five-year Civil War there were 1.1 million casualties and 620,000 deaths as both sides fought to maintain their way of life. To honor those who fought on both sides and to show the effect of battle on Ohioans, the Rosecrans Headquarters Unit, a Civil War re-enactment group based at the Myers Inn on Sunbury Village Square, is sponsoring a Civil War re-enactment and Living History Pageant in Sunbury on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
