The Olentangy School District will have nine new buses for the next school year.

Delaware City Schools administrators are concerned with the state’s new report card system, which school officials say would oversimplify ratings.

In a report listing the most dangerous pedestrian and cyclist corridors in Central Ohio, a one-mile stretch in Delaware County ranked number five: Sandusky Street between Court Street and Weiser Avenue.

Although the statewide voucher proposal (House Bill 136) is not considered an imminent threat to school district dollars, Delaware City Schools Superintendent Paul Craft urged the district to take a stance against it.

The Delaware City School District’s 8.3-mill operating levy passed by a 52 to 48 percent vote, according complete but unofficial results compiled by the Delaware County Board of Elections. Superintendent Paul Craft described the levy passage as the “right thing for our kids.”
Superintendents for the Buckeye Valley and Delaware City school districts made their cases Thursday night at a voter education event for why their districts’ residents should agree to give them more tax money this November.
School levy supporters are planning to begin its campaign tonight, Sept. 15 at Delaware Hayes High School gymnasium.
