COLUMBUS — A for­mer trea­surer for more than a dozen Ohio char­ter schools was charged Thurs­day with embez­zling more than $470,000 in fed­eral edu­ca­tion funds over six years.

The Delaware City School District’s 8.3-mill oper­at­ing levy passed by a 52 to 48 per­cent vote, accord­ing com­plete but unof­fi­cial results com­piled by the Delaware County Board of Elec­tions. Super­in­ten­dent Paul Craft described the levy pas­sage as the “right thing for our kids.”
