A front-page story in last week’s Delaware Gazette noted the adoption of a contract for “respite” services for juveniles. The story incorrectly reported that the contract was for $110,000 rather than its actual value of just $10,000 (the Gazette kindly printed a correction the following day) and the article didn’t have the space to go into the reasons behind the use of respite care and the source of the funding used to provide it.

Delaware County commissioners think the Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial in Sunbury is a unique attraction, and they want people to know about it. That’s why they unanimously voted Thursday to ask the Ohio Department of Transportation to approve installing signs pointing toward the memorial, which honors Ohio soldiers who have died since Sept. 11, 2001, on the northbound and southbound at the Delaware/Sunbury Interstate 71 exits.

Delaware County could be on the hook for another $125,000 to help renovate a juvenile detention facility in Marysville that it shares with three other counties.
