COLUMBUS — Rules reg­u­lat­ing oil and gas well con­struc­tion, water han­dling, and the dis­clo­sure of chem­i­cals used in drilling cleared final leg­isla­tive hur­dles Thurs­day before head­ing to Gov. John Kasich.

COLUMBUS — An Ohio leg­isla­tive panel approved new rules Mon­day for the con­struc­tion of oil and gas drilling wells, amid an under­ground shale explo­ration boom in the state.

300-foot buffer proposed for Ohio park drilling

COLUMBUS — A state nat­ural resource agency’s pro­posed rules for drilling in state parks would require nat­ural gas and oil com­pa­nies to stay at least 300 feet — the length of a foot­ball field — from camp­grounds, cer­tain water­ways and sites deemed his­tor­i­cally or archae­o­log­i­cally valuable.

After quakes, Ohio plans tough gas-drilling rules

COLUMBUS — A dozen earth­quakes in north­east­ern Ohio were almost cer­tainly induced by injec­tion of gas-drilling waste­water into the earth, state reg­u­la­tors said Fri­day as they announced a series of tough new rules for drillers.

COLUMBUS — State offi­cials are seek­ing fed­eral money to test whether crude oil can be drawn from old Ohio oil fields by pump­ing car­bon diox­ide from power plants and other sources into the ground — a process that has drawn con­cern from environmentalists.
