
After spending more than a third of a century in the Buckeye Valley Local School District — first as a student-athlete, then as a teacher and coach and finally as athletic director — Carol Evans is moving on to the next chapter in her life.
Ohio Wesleyan University senior Sharif Kronemer (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) won the highest honor at the eighth annual Dale J. Bruce Scholar-Athlete Awards Dinner, held on Thursday in the Benes Rooms of the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center on the Ohio Wesleyan campus.

Surrounded by his teammates, Matt Bonfini, forward for the National Champion Ohio Wesleyan University soccer team, holds up the team’s trophy during a victory rally at the university Monday. The team beat Calvin in San Antonio Saturday to win the NCAA Division III Championship. The win gave OWU men’s soccer coach Jay Martin his 608th career victory, making him the winningest men’s soccer coach in all divisions. The team had to overcome unexpected pressure resulting from the theft of items from team vans after arriving in San Antonio. More than 100 students and administrators attended Monday’s event recognizing the team’s accomplishment.
