The finan­cial lit­er­acy series, “Mak­ing Cents,” pre­sented by the Sun­bury, Ash­ley and Delaware County libraries con­tin­ues to offer inter­est­ing and infor­ma­tive pro­grams for the whole fam­ily. The pro­grams spon­sored by the Friends of the Delaware County Dis­trict Library, and the Delaware County Bank is a four-month long series to help you build your finan­cial knowl­edge, pre­sented at each of the libraries, giv­ing you mul­ti­ple oppor­tu­ni­ties to participate.

Fireworks, parades, 62 hot dogs: US celebrates 4th

NEW YORK (AP) — The nation’s most extrav­a­gant dis­play of July 4 fire­works Mon­day was a tri­umphant cel­e­bra­tion that turned solemn briefly to com­mem­o­rate the 10-year mark since the Sept. 11 attacks.

Tomatoes: The star players in the home vegetable garden

Toma­toes are prob­a­bly the most pop­u­lar “veg­etable” grown in the home gar­den; how­ever, this hasn’t always been true. While researchers have traced the tomato’s ori­gin to the moun­tains of South Amer­ica, the plant was intro­duced and grown in Europe more than 200 years before being grown in the United States.
