A new Interstate 71 interchange south of the existing one at U.S. 36/Ohio 37 would best help alleviate heavy traffic at the Delaware exit, Ohio Department of Transportation officials have decided. That’s good news to developer Pat Shivley, whose Sunbury Parkway commercial/industrial plan for the southern side of U.S. 36/Ohio 37 hinges on having an interchange built on that side of the road. A rival group led by Polaris developer Bob Weiler and Nationwide Realty has also been lobbying the state to build an interchange on the north side of U.S. 36/Ohio 37.
