COLUMBUS — Ohio’s unem­ploy­ment rate has dropped for the ninth month in a row, a trend that con­tin­ues to place the state below the national rate, offi­cials said Friday.

US adds 227,000 jobs in Feb.; jobless rate 8.3 pct

WASHINGTON — The United States added 227,000 jobs in Feb­ru­ary in the lat­est dis­play of the eco­nomic recovery’s sur­pris­ing breadth and brawn. The coun­try has put together the strongest three months of pure job growth since the Great Recession.

Obama’s budget: Government still getting bigger

WASHINGTON — Tak­ing a pass on rein­ing in gov­ern­ment growth, Pres­i­dent Barack Obama unveiled a record $3.8 tril­lion election-year bud­get plan Mon­day, call­ing for stimulus-style spend­ing on roads and schools and tax hikes on the wealthy to help pay the costs. The ideas landed with a thud on Capi­tol Hill.
