Democratic mayor of Ohio city to rent out home for RNC

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio (AP) — For $5,575, visitors to Ohio for the Republican National Convention next month can book a five-night stay at the home of North Olmsted’s Democratic mayor.

Mayor Kevin Kennedy tells Cleveland.com (http://bit.ly/1sF5BP0 ) that he’s not skipping town because of his party affiliation, but he and his family plan to take a vacation if their Barton Road home is rented.

Kennedy says his children helped him list their five-bedroom, two-bath property on Airbnb because he didn’t know what he was doing.

The listing states that the home sits on 3.5 acres next to Metroparks’ Bradley Woods Reservation and can sleep up to 12 people. The house features a pool with a slide, an outdoor bar area, trampoline and fire pits among other amenities.

The RNC will be in Cleveland July 18-21.
