2 charged in fatal stabbing at Ohio park during fireworks

OREGON, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say two brothers have been arrested on charges stemming from a fatal stabbing at Maumee Bay State Park during a fireworks display.

Police say 18-year-old Elijah Clark and 22-year-old Maurice Clark were jailed in Lucas County on a $1 million bond. WTOL television station (http://bit.ly/28LSqkY ) reports the two were facing murder and felonious assault charges in the death earlier this month of Karl Avery and the injury of two other men.

Police say the suspects didn’t know the victims. They say the stabbing resulted from an argument. They didn’t specify what the argument was about.

A third person also was arrested and charged with obstructing justice. She allegedly lied to cover up her boyfriend’s involvement in the stabbing.
