Park Service seeks help in identifying assault victim


PENINSULA, Ohio (AP) — The National Park Service is seeking the public’s help in identifying an assault victim found in in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

The park service says rangers received a report about a victim within the park’s boundaries in Peninsula around 9:20 a.m. Sunday. It says the woman is in critical condition at a local hospital.

She is African American, about 18 years old, 110-120 pounds, and 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 5 inches tall. She was wearing light blue jean shorts, a pink tank top and white sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

The National Park Service and the FBI are investigating.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park has 33,000 acres along the Cuyahoga River between Cleveland and Akron.
