Art Fair planned

The Friends of the Delaware County District Library will host a four-day Friends Art Fair at the Orange Branch Library Sept. 14 and 15 from 4-9 p.m., Sept. 16 from noon to 6 p., and Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to noon.

More than 100 pieces of art, in a variety of mediums, will be on display beginning Sept 12 until the start of the Art Fair during regular library hours. These donated pieces of art include central Ohio artists, as well as some nationally- and internationally-known artists.

The location is 7171 Gooding Blvd.

Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted. As with all Friends projects and programs, the proceeds will benefit the DCDL.

An album of the art is available at www.tinyurl.com/DCDLfriends in the Friends of DCDL Art Fair Gallery. Information on each piece of art is included. A physical binder of the artwork can be viewed at the circulation desk at any of the four DCDL locations.

Martin appointed new library trustee

The Delaware County District Library will welcome a new face to the Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday. Denise M. Martin was appointed to the Library’s board in July, following the resignation of Lori Saviers earlier this summer.

A Delaware County resident since 2000, Martin holds degrees from The Ohio State University and Capital University Law School. She’s practiced law in the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, Morrow County Prosecutor’s Office, and many years in private practice. Martin has also served on the boards of Downtown Marion and Marion Technical College Foundation.

The meeting will take place at 5 p.m. in the Ostrander Branch Library, 75 N. Fourth St. Judge Everett Krueger of the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas appointed Martin in July to fill Saviers’ remaining term. The seven-year term expires December 31, 2019.
