The Olentangy Local School District’s four high schools will host alumni gatherings before football games in the coming weeks as part of their respective homecoming festivities.
On Friday, Sept. 13, Olentangy High School and Olentangy Berlin High School have invited all alumni to celebrate and socialize before heading into the stadium to cheer on their alma maters. Olentangy alumni will gather in front of the main school entrance, while Berlin alumni will meet in front of the stadium entrance.
Both events will run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the respective stadiums.
Liberty and Orange will host its homecoming games on Sept. 27. At Orange, alumni will gather in the grass across from the stadium from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Liberty alumni will gather as part of the community tailgate outside the stadium from 5-6 p.m.
Tickets to the games, which are scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m., will still need to be purchased and are available online or at the stadium box offices.
“Our alumni are the product of our district’s mission to facilitate maximum learning for every student,” Superintendent Todd Meyer said. “We are proud of all they accomplish after graduating from Olentangy Schools, and we want to continue to foster a relationship between them and their alma mater. Our alumni are always welcome home, and we want to provide opportunities for connection – both among alumni and back to their schools.”
Any alumnus interested in serving as an alumni liaison to assist their high school in connecting with the alumni base should complete a liaison application, which can be accessed on the district website.
Alumni liaisons will promote alumni gatherings to a network of high school alums, serve as the alumni representative at the alumni gathering, work with the Olentangy Schools communications department to grow an alumni database, and assist with the planning and promotion of future alumni opportunities.
