22 Olentangy seniors rank among nation’s best on PSAT

Olentangy Schools is proud to announce 22 academically talented students have earned the distinguished honor of National Merit Semifinalist. The scholars join an elite group representing the top 1% of U.S. high school seniors.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the names of the 2025 semifinalists in the 70th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Approximately 16,000 high school seniors were selected based on the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT).

The Olentangy Schools National Merit Semifinalists are Adari, Prudhvi (Olentangy High School); Anani, Shareef (Olentangy Liberty High School); Bowen, Adelynn (Olentangy Berlin High School); Chaba, Anushka (Olentangy Liberty High School); Gagrani, Khushi (Olentangy Orange High School); Ganesan, Sanjay (Olentangy High School); Grieshop, Ethan (Olentangy Liberty High School); Heitkamp, Grace (Olentangy Berlin High School); Hersh, Jacob (Olentangy High School); Kakarla, Vahin (Olentangy High School); Kandalu, Janani (Olentangy Orange High School); Li, Levi (Olentangy Liberty High School); Nittala, Hurshil (Olentangy Liberty High School); Parmer, Casen (Olentangy Liberty High School); Peterson, John (Olentangy Berlin High School); Rajamani, Rishi (Olentangy Liberty High School); Shetty, Aniket (Olentangy Liberty High School); Tong, Rachel (Olentangy Orange High School); Trivedi, Aarya (Olentangy High School); Viswapriyan, Varun (Olentangy Orange High School); Wang, Matt (Olentangy Orange High School); and Wiskemann, Jack (Olentangy Orange High School).

“We are extremely proud to have these high-achieving learners represent Olentangy Schools – many of whom are accomplished not only in the classroom, but also in their extracurricular endeavors,” said Superintendent Todd R. Meyer about the 22 semifinalists. “I want to extend my gratitude to their teachers and families that have guided them throughout their years in Olentangy.”

Semifinalists can continue in the competition to become National Merit Finalists and eligible for about 6,870 National Merit Scholarships, which will be offered in the spring, worth nearly $26 million.

Olentangy Schools will recognize the National Merit Semifinalists, as well as 39 Commended Scholars, at the Oct. 24 Olentangy Schools Board of Education meeting.
