The Delaware Hayes girls soccer team was one of a handful of area squads to keep its season alive with a solid Division I district semifinal showing Thursday night.

In Gahanna, the ninth-seeded Pacers got the job done against the eighth-seeded Lions, parlaying a 2-0 lead into a 4-3 win — setting up a clash with fourth-seeded Pickerington North in Thursday’s district final at Fortress Field in the process.

Hayes got goals from Madeline Bruns, Adrionna Brown and Khloe White, who had a couple. Elise Buckerfield, Bruns and White had assists while keeper Chloe Skeens came up with 10 huge saves in the win.

Sophia Tee scored two of the Lions’ goals while Aspen Gunville had the other.

Closer to home in Delaware, sixth-seeded Olentangy Berlin picked up an equally-impressive, 3-1 win over visiting and 20th-seeded Marysville while 11th-seeded Olentangy Orange outlasted host and seventh-seeded Olentangy 1-0 to advance to next week’s district championship.

Maya Alonso had a pair of goals while Piper Davy had the other in the Bears’ win. Emerson Rehklau, Addison Davis and Davy had assists while keeper Claire Walden finished with one save.

In Lewis Center, Alexis Knisely scored off a feed from Stella Albrecht to lift the Pioneers to the upset win.

Next up, Orange and Berlin will square off with a district championship on the line Thursday night at Big Walnut.

Over in Powell, fifth-seeded Olentangy Liberty became the fourth county team to punch a ticket to a district final thanks to a convincing 4-0 win over the visiting Panthers of Hilliard Darby.

Liberty will take on 10th-seeded Hilliard Bradley in Thursday’s district championship. First kick is set for 7 p.m. at Performance Stadium in Plain City.
